From a Family’s Heart to a Village’s Hope
In the rural heartland of Limpopo, in a village called Spitspunt, something powerful is unfolding. It’s not loud. It’s not headline news. But it’s changing lives — quietly, consistently, and with deep love.
The Mampana Foundation was born from a personal moment of heartbreak. During a visit to the village with their children, Mr. Fourman and Mrs. Samantha Mampana noticed something they couldn’t ignore: while their children played and laughed with local kids, things changed when books came out. Their children could read. The others could not. And in that silence — in the divide between laughter and literacy — a mission was born.
What began as a family’s response to inequality became a grassroots movement to uplift children and restore dignity in forgotten rural spaces. Founded in 2023, the Mampana Foundation exists to serve the children of Spitspunt — not with charity, but with care, consistency, and community-rooted action.
🌱 What We Do
At the heart of our work are two early childhood development centres: Kgothatso and Bokamoso. These are more than crèches. They are safe spaces where over 150 children receive warm meals, early education, emotional care, and the kind of encouragement every child deserves.
We also go beyond the classroom — supporting families with food parcels, helping children transition into primary school with uniforms and supplies, and running our annual January Gathering to celebrate each child’s progress with pride and visibility.
💛 Why It Matters
In places like Spitspunt, education is not a guarantee. Hunger, unemployment, and lack of resources hold too many children back before they even begin. But we believe that where a child starts should never determine where they end up.
When we give a chair, a crayon, a school bag — we’re not just handing out supplies. We’re saying: “You belong here. You matter. And we’re walking this journey with you.”

We are not funded by large institutions. We are community-run, family-led, and powered by everyday people who believe in showing up. Our work is deeply local. We know the names, the homes, the stories. We’re not outsiders — we are part of this village, building from the inside out.
Every rand we receive goes directly to real, visible needs — food, firewood, electricity, learning materials. Nothing is wasted. Everything is personal.
